Daniel Hyams, MEd (Dist)
I’m an autistic practitioner and the founder of Ethical Autism Consultancy. I am formally diagnosed as autistic and also identify as ADHD, making me AuDHD. Autism and ADHD have a significant overlap, with many shared traits and experiences, and this perspective informs how I approach both my work and my understanding of neurodiversity.
My practice is shaped by personal experience, over 17 years in social care, including roles in management, training, and workforce development, and a Master’s degree in Autism (Distinction).
This work is deeply important to me, both professionally and personally.
I work with organisations, workplaces, families, and those who directly support autistic adults, offering guidance that is thoughtful, practical, and grounded in real-world contexts.
My approach brings together personal experience, research, and reflective practice, with a focus on inclusion, co-production, and supporting ethical decision-making in complex situations. This allows me to understand both the realities of autistic people and the practical challenges faced by those supporting them.
My work is grounded not only in theory, but in real-world experience of what does and does not work in practice. I aim to create a space where people feel able to reflect, ask questions, and develop their practice with confidence.
I’m particularly interested in helping people move beyond theory and translate neurodiversity-affirming values into everyday practice in ways that are meaningful and sustainable.
